Transfer factors are small polypeptide, non-species specific molecules that influence the way in which the immune system works. Classed as neutraceutical supplements they are used to:

• Enhance
• Educate or                    
• Modulate .....

..... how the immune system functions.

In fact transfer factors have 3 separate identifiable fractions which helps explain how they work:

• Inducer fraction - this acts on the natural killer (NK) cells to stimulate a response to infection
• Antigen specific fraction – this fraction educates the immune system so that it will remember specific threats such as bacteria and viruses. It also has the added benefit of stimulating the immune system to recognise similar pathogens
• Suppressor fraction – which modulates the immune system where it over reacts as in, for example, auto-immune conditions.

The transfer factor molecules we use are derived either from cow colostrum (the first milk a cow produces for its calf), or from chicken egg yolks. Once extracted, they are then dried and encapsulated for use.  Other immune enhancing supplements are also added to some of the products which we use, for example, the Tri Factor Plus formula has the added benefits of:

• Cordyceps sinensis

Originally developed for humans we now use Transfer Factor to help support animals with a number of problems where the immune system is not functioning properly:

• Dogs and especially cats with renal failure
