Transfer Factor is a natural immune booster, tiny molecules found in mammals and birds that transfer critical immune information to cells. They were first discovered as a result of studying newborn calves that had died soon after birth where it was discovered that they had not suckled from their mother.  As infection and not starvation was usually the cause of death, researchers realised that immunity had not been passed to the newborn calf from the mother through her first milk called colostrum. Colostrum is important and provides one of the main sources of transfer factors which are so vital for instructing the immune system how to function properly.

This natural immunity or ‘transfer factor’ is non-species specific and has been extracted from cow colostrum and egg yolks to give the widest possible protection, boosting the immune system and equipping it to recognise and deal with any present or potential danger.

Hens and cows were chosen to provide the basis of the Transfer Factor capsules as they live mainly outside and eat from the ground, often sharing drinking water. It was realised that this, in fact, prepared their immune systems to repel the many infections, bacteria and viruses that they were exposed to. 

Transfer factor is safe to use in all species of animal both in modulating the immune system and in boosting/supporting it. In the latter action it is far more powerful than Echinacea and some of the other popular immune boosters we use. When combined with other immune enhancing supplements (Cordyceps sinensis, d-Beta Glucan, Agaricus blazeii, Aloe vera, Maitake & Shitake mushroom extracts) it is even more effective.

We frequently prescribe Transfer factor to help with severe skin problems, autoimmune conditions, for cats with FIV, FelV and other viral infections, cancer support, chronic infections and to generally strengthen the immune system where it is weakened for whatever reason.
